99. Blaming Her for Everything
On every news channel in Phoenix City, only one news was airing. The largest silk-producing company, which had been the backbone of the AG Group ever since its downfall began, was suddenly canceling its collaboration.
What else?
The same silk company was now under the name GK Group.
“What now? What now? We are doomed! AG Group is in big trouble!”
Harold Olsen walked up and down, yelling out curses and sputtering incoherent words.
Inside the Olsens Mansion was like a battleground.
Every member of the family was on their feet, including Grandpa Jeffery whose furious look could make mountains crumble.
“GK Group- GK Group! It is that boy again!” He stomped his cane onto the floor.
“Father, we have no one to blame but Heidi!” Harold thundered. “Everyone knows she’s bad luck. It hasn’t been long since she returned, and things are only getting worse.”
“Why do you love blaming Heidi, Harold?”
“Can’t you see it for yourself? Heidi will destroy us all. She will destroy the AG Group without even trying. Just put her ex-husband in the picture.”
“I don’t believe Heidi would want anything bad to happen to the Group. She has not committed any sin, it is all that boy’s doing.”
“Isn’t her biggest sin falling for him? If she hadn’t done so, the Olsens Family wouldn’t have had any issues with them. Heidi must have done something for him to divorce her, and he’s now raining down his wrath on us.”
“He is raining his wrath on us because your stupid son decided to get involved,” Grandpa Jeffery corrected him. “Does Lucas Harrison know that Heidi belongs to the Olsens Family? No. But Zach Olsen decided to be the troublemaker by constantly getting involved with him instead of facing the company.”
“Dad, you know well that Heidi is pushing Zach to do that,” Beatrice cried out.
“Zach isn’t a kid, is he?”
The voices were so loud that no one heard the sounds coming from the door.
Heidi walked in.
This time, even Grandpa Jeffery wasn’t fast enough to prevent her uncle from attacking her. But Heidi was fast enough to evade her uncle’s attack by blocking it with the flower vase.
Harold’s hand hit the vase and a pain shot through his arm. “Heidi, you despicable child!”
Heidi quickly hid behind Grandpa Jeffery. “What’s going on?”
“They blame you for the new calamity that befell the AG Group. Tell me, do you have a hand in it?”
“Grandpa, no!” Heidi denied.
“Then did you come in contact with Lucas Harrison recently?” Regina questioned. “Because it seems it’s related to the feud going on between him and Zach.”
“Mum!” Heidi exclaimed.
“Where did you spend the night, Heidi?” Caleb gave her a pointed look.
“Dad, when did you come back?” Heidi asked.
Seeing that she was trying to avoid his question, Caleb gave her a helpless look. “You see how angry Harold is. He thinks you’re the cause of all the bad luck happening in this family.”
“And by reporting me to your daughter, what do you expect her to do to me?” Harold recovered from the pain from the flower vase.
Holding his slightly bruised arm, he pointed a shaking finger at Heidi. “You are biting off more than you can chew! Heidi, I will make sure you return to your senses soon.”
After threatening her, Harold left with his family.
Heidi let out a tired sigh.
“Of course, Harold will use every opportunity to blame Heidi. Isn’t his precious Lilian still in the police custody?” Regina rolled her eyes.
“And aren’t you the troublemaker, Heidi? We thought your return would make him stop humiliating us, but things are just getting worse.”
“Gina, take it easy.” Caleb looked troubled and he whispered something into her ears.
But Regina strode forward, dropping both hands on her waist. “Maybe we should just lock her up. Do you believe that what happened this morning isn’t related to Heidi? Lucas Harrison wouldn’t just pop out of nowhere and keep attacking the AG Group.”
“Lucas Harrison is making a big mistake.” Heidi pursed her lips. “Don’t worry, Mum, the AG Group will soon get back at him. I’ll make sure of that.”
“Come on, stop it!” Regina stared at her in disbelief. “Will you not stop, Heidi, until everything gets destroyed? Who are you to trifle with Lucas Harrison?”
Grandpa Jeffery looked tired. He didn’t join in the argument and he silently walked away with a hand on his chest.
“Stop blaming me, Mum. Lucas is-”
“Is the one to be blamed!” Regina completed her words, her loud voice echoing as she flailed her arms in the air. “Heidi, stop this foolishness already.”
“I’m telling you to be quiet, Regina. Heidi’s not a kid,” Caleb butted in.
