95. Know About Her Past
Not long after Lucas left, Heidi let out a muffled scream, her hand reaching out for the empty air. In her dark vision, water flooded into her nose and mouth, drowning her, its heavy weight pushing her down.
Her legs were caught in a sea kelp and she thrashed and struggled fruitlessly.
With each moment that passed by, her strength and resolve departed from her. When her head hit a hard stone, Heidi gasped and sat up, her eyes wide and her heart racing so fast as if it would burst out!
“Heidi- Heidi, you’re awake!” Zach’s frightened voice reached her ears.
Heidi’s palm wandered to her chest, holding it tight to ease down her heartbeat.
“Heidi!” Zach called out again. “Please stop acting weird. Thank goodness, you’re awake. You don’t know how frightened I was, I almost thought you wouldn’t wake up.”
“What is going on?” Heidi’s eyes wandered around. “What am I doing in a hospital?”
“Don’t you remember?” Zach sat beside her. “You drowned in that stupid swimming pool. Damnit! I’m gonna bulldoze it as soon as possible. How did that happen? Why did you jump into that damned pool, Heidi?”
Because the surveillance camera wasn’t near the swimming pool, Zach was unable to see anything unless for the fact that a taxi did came to his Villa.
Heidi must have stopped by the swimming pool and probably tripped.
Hearing Zach’s words, Heidi’s head pounded.
She shut her eyes and supported her forehead with both hands. Jumped into the swimming pool?
Heidi didn’t jump. She could clearly remember that she went unconscious. Someone grabbed her from behind, then all became darkness.
“What’s wrong, Heidi? Why are you quiet?” Zach asked in a worried tone. ” Say something, please. Don’t tell me that the trauma has made you lose your speech.”
Heidi looked at him. “I’m just confused. I think someone pushed me into that pool.”
“What do you mean?” Zach straightened up. “The surveillance caught no one apart from you, that crazy girl, then your scumbag ex- husband. Wait-”
Zach’s eyes widened. “Was it Lucas Harrison? He was the one who pushed you, right?”
Knowing that Lucas Harrison was capable of that because he had pushed Heidi the last time too, Zach could think of no one else.
“However, Lucas Harrison was in my house, trying to save that crazy girl.”
It shouldn’t be Lucas. Heidi shook her head. She watched Lucas enter the building, and the person who attacked her came from behind.
“Apart from digging out that pool, I must tighten the security around LuxVille Residential Area. I just wanted to live like a free boy, but it seems people have underestimated me so much to enter my Villa as they please.
Who do you think had the guts to push you inside that pool? They must have been skillful enough to have avoided the surveillance camera.”
Heidi was relieved that Zach didn’t think she was just making things up.
Who could possibly harm her?
Heidi’s lips curled up slightly, an angry look flashing in her eyes. Did she even need to ask?
“It was definitely Tracy,” she spoke. “I don’t think her master plan was to hook up with you or frame us for wanting to harm her. This was Tracy’s master plan.”
“You mean pushing you inside the pool? Did that crazy bitch trick us?”
“It is strange, though.” Heidi frowned. “Tracy could ask that person to harm me physically or even abduct me. Why throw me into the pool?”
Unless Tracy knew of her illness.
Heidi and Zach stared at each other, thinking the same thing.
“Holy shit! You mean she wanted to kill you?”
As scary as it sounded, maybe that was Tracy’s ultimate plan. However,
“The outsiders don’t know about my illness. Not even Lucas Harrison. How did she know?”
“Do you, perhaps, know each other in the past?” Zach asked. “Maybe you attended the same school.”
Since that incident occurred at school, some students might know, right?
But there weren’t other students around that evening. Heidi was fished out of the sea by the village’s locals.
“Tracy seems to know about my past. Apart from that, she is also after my life.”
Zach nodded at Heidi’s words. “If I don’t deal with her, my name isn’t Zach Olsen. She appears to be a strange girl with a lot of tricks. Leave it to me, Heidi. I will investigate and make her admit her treachery by herself.”
Would Tracy ever go to the extent of endangering her life?
Was that why at Zach Olsen’s birthday party she’d intentionally grasped Heidi by the pool?
It seemed Heidi had underestimated her enemy.
“Heidi.” Zach dragged her attention. “I want you to promise me. Please don’t let Grandpa know about what happened tonight. If he knows, I’ll be dead meat.”
Zach was already on Grandpa Jeffrey’s blacklist for not managing the Group well.
If he made another mistake, the old man might kick him out of the family for good.
“I won’t tell Grandpa. But promise me you’ll no longer be reckless around girls, not only Tracy.”
“I have learned my lesson. You have my promise, Heidi.”
