Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife Chapter 90 by HusnaS

90. The Voice Recording

Deeming standing there and bantering with Lilian a waste of her time and energy, Heidi left the waiting room to meet the Police Chief.

She sat in his office and gave her statement, recounting every incident that happened from the moment the Finance Department’s Manager went missing down to the moment his wife faked a suicide attempt.

After listening to her attentively, taking some notes, the Police Chief nodded his head.

“Very well, Ms. Olsen. Right now, the finance department’s manager is also being punished in a different cell. Their matter will be forwarded to the Court of Justice. To proceed, we would like to be in touch with the brand’s lawyer.”

Hearing his words, Heidi put on a contemplative look. Hesitantly, she asked, “Is it possible to drop the case?”

“It is possible,” the Police Chief replied. “But why would you do that? Taking the matter to the court and sentencing the criminals is the right way to punish them.”

Heidi gave him a stiff smile. “You see, Lilian is a family member. I can’t go beyond letting her spend a few nights in the police custody.”

“More often, a criminal turns recalcitrant if their punishment is extended and their pride keeps getting crushed. Lilian is my little sister, and I hope she learns her lesson from this incident.”

The Police Chief nodded in understanding. “You have a point, Ms. Olsen. However, what about the manager?”

Heidi chuckled. “What choice do I have? Since I’ve pardoned Lilian, I’ll have to let him go too. Lilian was the mastermind after all.”

Despite the Police Chief’s disappointment, he had no choice but to reason with her explanation. “Very well, then. As per your orders, we will release the criminals once we are sure they will change their ways.”

Heidi thanked him and left.

While leaving the Police Department, she checked her wristwatch, relieved that she would be able to attend Kate’s photoshoot on time.

Then her phone beeped constantly inside her bag. Bringing it out, she saw Zach’s number displayed on the screen.

“Heidi, you can’t believe it. I have a piece of juicy news you wouldn’t want to miss. Guess who wants to hook up with Zach Olsen.”

Zach’s voice was loud and cheerful, which made Heidi’s brows furrowed.

“I’m sure it isn’t one of the employees under me or someone I love dearly. If that’s the case, I’m not interested.”

“Nah! It’s none of those clumsy employees.” Zach chuckled. “She’s your mortal enemy.”

“Who?” Heidi asked.

“Your ex-husband’s mistress!” Zach exclaimed, his hard laughter reverberating in Heidi’s ears. “Can you believe it? That treacherous bitch somehow found my contact. She called me and made her advances clear. Then she said, ‘Oh, Zach Olsen. I’d love to come to your Villa tonight.”

Heidi shuddered at how Zach was able to imitate Tracy’s voice perfectly.

Zach added, “We’ll hook up tonight at LuxVille Residential Area. And you’ll be the guest of honor, Heidi.”

“I’m not coming.” Heidi shook her head. “Zach, stay away from her. Tracy is full of tricks.”

“Who cares about her damned tricks? It isn’t like I like her, Heidi. But this is the perfect opportunity to deal with that crazy girl. I can’t wait to humiliate her and send the video to Lucas Harrison. How happy he will be to know that his mistress is chasing after his enemy.”

“I won’t deal with her until you come, Heidi. You must be there because I’m doing it for you. I can’t wait to teach her a lesson.”

Heidi sighed and hung up.

She didn’t trust Tracy. Nothing good came out of anything related to her. As she dropped the phone inside her bag, Heidi looked up and saw a figure approaching.

A tall guy with a disheveled look. His jacket was flung over his shoulder, his footsteps swaying as if drunk. He walked with a swag associated only with wayward teenagers, seemingly just released from police custody.

“You’re Heidi, aren’t you?” The man eyed her from head to toe, giving her a lustful gaze.

Heidi put some distance from him. “Do I know you, Mister?”

“I knew it. From the moment I heard you speaking from a distance, I knew It was you. How could I ever forget your voice when it’s been keeping me awake all night?”

Heidi gave him a cautious look. If she’d met this kind of person before, she would surely remember. “What do you mean by that?” She asked.

Todd brought out his phone and played a voice recording of him and Heidi.

There were disturbing noises playing in the background, of a man and a woman obviously lost in pleasure.
