Heidi smiled disappointedly. Of course, who was she kidding? Tracy was the love of his life. It wouldn’t make any difference.
Even if he stopped seeing her as a gold digger, it wouldn’t miraculously make him start loving her suddenly.
“You haven’t answered my question.”
Heidi broke the silence.
“Am I entitled to answer it?”
His arrogant tone made her eyes dim. Heidi was no longer in the mood to continue cooking.
“You’re an asshole, Lucas.” Turning around, she pushed him aside and left in a hurry, her heart muscles tensing up.
Lucas stood alone in the kitchen, his eyes fixed on the closed doors. Running a hand through his hair, he cursed under his breath and hurried after her.
“Where is she?” He met the maid who was on her way to the kitchen.
“The Young Miss has left, Young Master. She told me to tell the Master that she has made breakfast.”
At that moment, Grandpa Winston walked downstairs. He heard the maid’s words, and he looked a bit displeased. “Heidi has left already?”
“Yes, Master.”
“Grandpa, good morning.”
But Grandpa Winston ignored him. ” You upset her, didn’t you?”
Lucas was quiet. When the breakfast arrived, he ate it slowly and carefully, his mind reeling back to those days when he would eat similar delicious food every day.
He left for his quarters after eating, and Grandpa Winston summoned the Butler.
“Tell me exactly what happened.”
“Master, I didn’t hear much of their conversation, but it was evident that they were arguing.”
“I thought Lucas was finally back to his senses.”
“The Young Master later returned to his quarters last night. Only the Young Miss slept here. There is zero progress in their relationship.”
“This can’t go on.” Grandpa Winston stood up. “Those children confuse me a lot. First of all, we mustn’t let them finalize that divorce. Luke, you have to get me his lawyer. As for Heidi, let’s see if we can invite her here again.”
“Consider it done, Master.”
At The Olsens Mansion.
The family was supposed to be eating breakfast together harmoniously, however, there was no sign of harmony as the whole mansion shook with loud voices of arguments.
“Dad, can’t you look at this from a layman’s perspective? Everyone is sane enough to know that Heidi did that intentionally. It is a part of her plot to overthrow her uncle’s family. You can’t let Lilian remain in the police custody, you have to bring her out.”
“Why should I bring out a child who has gone wayward?” Grandpa Jeffery scowled. “I am very disappointed in Lilian. I didn’t expect her to be so stupid to collude with other people to tarnish the brand’s image.”
“This is all a plot orchestrated by Heidi, Grandpa!” Aiden spoke up. “Lilian would never do such things. Since you let Heidi fire us from the company, did we throw any tantrums? It is obvious that Heidi isn’t done with bullying us yet.”
“What do you know, Scoundrel?”
Grandpa Jeffery pushed his chair back and stood up. “If you say any more nonsense, I will beat you up with my cane. Both your and Lilian’s intentions are the same. You won’t leave Heidi alone to face her business in peace.”
Seeing Grandpa Jeffrey’s unyielding attitude, Harold was greatly beyond himself. “Dad, you shouldn’t be fooled by that silly girl. Heidi has been full of tricks since she was young, can’t you see that she’s trying to destroy us all?”
“Harold, why do you love bullying Heidi when you have a son older than her?”
Harold expected Grandpa Jeffrey’s response, who would always take sides with Heidi.
He decided to rain his anger on his brother instead. “You are a disgrace, Caleb. You weren’t competent enough to manage the company so Dad gave me the responsibility. Now that you want to take vengeance on me, you are inciting your daughter to destroy my family’s reputation.”
“You wouldn’t shut up about saving the AG Group, Harold,” Regina answered him instead. “While your children are constantly contributing to the Group’s downfall. Instead of pointing fingers at someone else, why don’t you discipline them?”

Someone opened the large doors and the argument died down.
Seeing the person at the door, Harold and his family’s anger exploded.
