Shouldn’t Mess Up with My Hidden Heiress Ex-wife Chapter 44 by HusnaS

44. Not A Good Sign

“Lucas Harrison, let me go!” Heidi glowered, her voice low and vengeful.

“In your dreams.”

Footsteps came from the left, and Tracy emerged from Lucas’s room. Tracy stilled for some seconds before rushing towards the couple.

“Heidi, it’s you again?” Tracy stepped between Heidi and Lucas, widening her eyes with fear. “What brought you here? Are you here to cause trouble?”

The insecurities in Tracy’s eyes didn’t miss Heidi’s scrutiny.

Shaking her head, her lips curled into a disdainful smile. “I’m not here for trouble, but someone obviously is. Why don’t you reign him in, Tracy? He claims you’re the only woman in his heart, but he’s chasing after other women and messing around.”

Tracy looked from the stoic man to Heidi. She shook her head in disbelief. ” No, Heidi. I know what you’re trying to do. You will never succeed in driving a wedge between me and Lucas. I don’t believe you.”

“That’s your business.” Rolling her eyes, Heidi threw Lucas a last glare and left.

Tracy’s fingers curled into fists, watching Heidi’s retreating figure.

She wasn’t a child.

Lucas Harrison didn’t deny Heidi’s accusation. Heidi’s lips were red and swollen slightly, and her face was flushed too.

What was happening?

“What exactly happened?”

At another end of the mansion, Stella was bawling her eyes out, battling the humiliation.

“I know Dad doesn’t like me. What I didn’t know was that he would shame us in public.”

“Stop thinking about it, Stella. It has already happened,” Blake comforted her, his mind still troubled at the sudden turn of events.

“I know why… Dad thinks I’m too young for you. Am I that young, Honey? Why did those people call me a gold digger when I’ve never even taken a penny from you before?”

“They’re entitled to their opinions. Don’t let it bother you.”

“Still, Honey, I can’t handle it. If those people keep looking down on me, what will happen in the future when we have our own child?”

At the mention of a child, Blake’s expression shifted slightly.

So he changed the topic, “Didn’t I give the jewelry to you? How did it end up fake and the original was with Heidi? Did the bodyguards make a mistake?”

Stella was dazed for a few seconds, a realization sipping in.

Then she let out a bitter laugh. “The bodyguards didn’t make any mistake. It’s Lucas’s fault. He tricked me and swapped the necklace for Heidi.”

While she was getting ready for the party, Lucas Harrison, who would never even look at her, suddenly came inside her room.

The menacing look in his eyes didn’t give her a chance to speak. Lucas left shortly, baffling Stella. She should have realized early that the jewelry had been swapped.

“Honey, do you think he knows? If he’s taking Heidi’s back, it means he knows what happened.”

Blake furrowed his brows. “Even if he knows, he can’t do anything. You’re his stepmother.”

Stella cursed inside, her eyes dimming.

Wasn’t shaming her enough dealing with her?

Lucas could just confront her about the

jewelry, but he used a sly approach in order to make her a laughingstock.

“Honey, you see what your son is turning into. He’s no different from Dad, aren’t his actions familiar? If you don’t take any action, I’m afraid we might lose him to Dad and that filthy girl.”

Blake Harrison nodded thoughtfully. Because of her, Dad shamed us tonight. Lucas didn’t consider your position before swapping the jewelry, all because of her. Heidi has made a mistake by thinking she can contend with us.”

Sensing Blake Harrison’s rage, Stella’s lips curled slightly.

“Honey, You know how much I love your son and how much I want this family to be complete. A girl like Heidi doesn’t belong here. We must protect Lucas from her treachery. And if we don’t take action now, things might get too late. Heidi and Dad are already corrupting your son, it’s not a good sign.”

Blake got up from the bed and paced inside the room for a while.

Then he brought out his phone and dialed a number. “Don’t let her leave this mansion tonight. Once the party is over, bring her to me.”
