143. Can’t Run
“Hey, relax.” His smile didn’t fade. ” Your friend also told me you’re very energetic, I can see that. However, let’s play a different kind of game, can we?”
“What friend are you speaking about?” Heidi’s brows furrowed.
The crazy man kept mentioning the word ‘friend’ which was disturbing.
Which of her friends would recommend her to such a crazy man?
“Oh, she said not to mention her name.” Todd kept moving forward until he was so close to her. “She wanted to give me to you as a surprise.”
“Really?” Heidi raised a brow, faking an inquisitive look. “But how should I thank her if you don’t tell me who she is?”
Todd’s eyes lit up, sensing her consent. “We made a deal…” his eyes glinted, his gaze traveling down to her chest. “I wouldn’t say a word… just make you feel good.”
By then, he’d placed both palms on the wall, caging her in between. “Be a good girl, get back to the bed-”
“Urgh!” His groans followed his next words.
Grabbing the perfect opportunity, Heidi sent a flying kick to his sensitive spot, snatched the keys, and rushed back to the door.
As she fiddled with the keys, struggling to unlock the door, the man regained his senses behind her.
“You can’t go anywhere, Candy. You are supposed to be obedient.”
But Heidi was already out of the room, running down a long hallway, passing many similar-looking doors that faced each other.
It was either they were inside a hotel or somewhere similar in comparison.
Yet, the place was eerily silent which creeped her out.
“I told you you can’t run!” His sinister voice echoed behind. “Don’t give us both a hard time, Candy.”
Heidi reached the elevator, jabbing her fingers at the button.
The elevator seemed dead though, nothing sounded nor moved!
“Come back here!”
Glancing over her shoulder, the man was dangerously getting nearer. She didn’t stop jabbing at the buttons until he got so close that only a foot’s distance separated them.
Heidi panicked, her heart racing wilder as her mind conjured up the hideous outcomes of standing in the same proximity as such a crazy man.
“Whatever you want from me, I’m not interested!” She spat out. “Leave me alone!”
“Why should I?” He grinned wider. ” Only a foolish man would resist such a goddess. Let me tell you, this hotel has top-notch security and only I know the password. Don’t worry, there aren’t other guests around to disturb us.”
Skyline Bar was booming with louder music, shaking the floor.
Inside the large booth, both girls were dozing off from drinking too much. Kate had, in fact, passed out already.
“Where’s Ms. Olsen?” Isla mumbled, vawning and rubbing her sleepy eves.
Zach, who was a bit sober, looked confused. “Heidi said she’d be back soon. It has been five minutes.”
“No, it has been an hour,” Isla corrected him, turning out to be more sober than him.
Zach rose to his feet, his body swaying, his eyes hazy. “Heidi- Heidi should have finished using the washroom. That scumbag, Lucas Harrison, must have kidnapped her again.”
Zach couldn’t recall much, only believing that Lucas Harrison was fond of kidnapping Heidi.
He headed for the door when a phone sitting on one of the couches rang.
“I think it’s Ms. Olsen’s phone.” Isla stared at it.
Zach grabbed the phone, and in his slightly blurred vision, an unnamed number stared back at him.
He answered it, curious to know who was calling.
Then a deep male voice, low and gentle, caring and doting, came from the other end.
“Heidi, I will beg if you want me to. Let’s talk in private.”
Zach clenched his fingers, his blood boiling. “Damnit! Lucas Harrison, you’re so full of shit! Are you trying to deceive me by making me think you haven’t kidnapped Heidi again!?”
He yelled, making the man distance the phone from his ear on the other end.
“What do you mean?”
“Quit it! You’d better bring Heidi out or this Young Master will make sure you eat cow dung for breakfast!”
Zach hung up, pacing back and forth.
From the couch, Isla said helplessly. ” Mr. Olsen, what if Ms. Olsen hasn’t left the bar yet? She might be downstairs to catch fun.”
“Heidi is obsessed with isolation, there’s no way she’ll mingle with others.”
